1. General information
1.1. Course objectives
1. Initiate the student in the study of the three-dimensional shape and its graphic representation from natural observation.
2. Provide the student with basic notions about mastering the materials, instruments and techniques that characterize this visual language in its different supports; for artistic, creative and innovative purposes.
3. Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Goal 5: Gender equality. Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation. Objective 12: Responsible production and consumption.
1.2. Context and sense of the subject in the degree
The Fine Arts degree aims to train the graduate for the professional practice of graphic, plastic and visual arts, which have in common the visual language. The drawing or “disegno” is the basic rudiment through which all kinds of ideas and formal projects are materialized or visualized. And this subject is the first level of learning signs, codes and formal techniques that, although developed in two dimensions, is capable of representing the three-dimensionality of the real or imaginary world.
Drawing I is complemented, horizontally, with Image and Shape Analysis, Representation Systems I, Volume I and Color I so that the student learns and knows how to apply the basic concepts and techniques of visual language
2. Learning results
2. Learning outcomes
The student, to pass this subject, must demonstrate the following results...
The student is able to compose figures and objects adjusted to a certain format, through synthetic geometric schemes: linear and tonal.
He is capable of perceiving and graphically projecting axes, structures, proportions and patterns of tension and movement.
Correctly applies the tonal scale to assess chiaroscuro, contrast and gradient. And it correctly establishes the figure-ground relationships.
Appropriately uses the basic instruments and techniques of drawing, as well as the graphic gesture to represent shapes and volumes.
Verbally expresses the terminology and basic concepts of art and drawing technique.
It reflects what students are expected to know, understand and/or be able to do at the end of the course. It must coincide with what is indicated in the Verification Report.
3. Syllabus
The agenda is included taking into account the contents and/or thematic blocks that are dealt with in the subject.
• Structure and fit
• Principles and fundamentals of Drawing
• Light
• volume
• Chiaroscuro
4. Academic activities
The teaching-learning methodology and the types of activities to be developed during the subject are considered. This should make it easier for the student body to achieve the expected results. It must be coherent with the previous sections and comply with the proposals set forth in the Verification Report.

5. Assessment system
The exercises will be valued from 0 to 10 according to the following scale:
- Assimilation and application of fundamental concepts (4).
- Technical evolution and expressiveness (3).
- Presentation and final aesthetic value (2).
- Personal attitude, search for solutions and participation in the group (1).
The final grade is determined by 80% of the programmed face-to-face activities and 20% by other non-face-to-face activities such as the field notebook, readings and debates.

The "fit" of the figure or composition must remain within the limits of the format without missing or on any part.
During the process, the geometric, linear, internal and contour scheme, the axes of symmetry, the proportioned parts of the set and its articulation, the support and tension points and the lines of virtual movement must be seen -explicitly-.
Likewise, you must delimit the tonal facets by line or silhouette. And it will use the maximum tones on a scale of 1 to 10.
You must prepare, maintain and use your own and collective instruments and materials in the most orderly, clean and efficient way possible.
The study of detail and the use of other techniques with which the student feels more secure will be allowed, provided that the above conditions are met.
